Students will be introduced to Broadway, Street, and Contemporary styles of jazz dance. Dancers will learn essential skills like percussive isolations, spinal articulations, flat back, pivots, laterals, tilts, syncopated and swing rhythms, jazz walks, jazz squares, layouts, kicks, leaps, and turns. The class focuses on strength building, musicality, flexibility, body awareness, and character expression.
In Tap, students are introduced to intermediate concepts such as musicality, improvisation, more complex combinations, use of space, and choreography. Emphasis is placed on clear taps, timing, and speed. This class is for all incoming students ages 9-12 and returning students placed in this level.
