We are excited to offer a variety or fine arts programs! We have GCSU faculty, staff, and students as well as local community members who are experts in their crafts and willing to share with the community.

 
  • Adult Beginner Ballet 24-25  March 2025

    This is a class for movers getting started or revisiting ballet again as an adult. Dancers are introduced to fundamentals in classical ballet technique, including basic positions of the feet and arms, and vocabulary such as: parallel first, first position, second position, demi-plié, tendu. Students focus on alignment while performing progressions at the barre, center work, and across the floor to develop body awareness, coordination, flexibility, strength, and music concepts.

    June 9- Saxophone Repair
    June 10- Low Reed Repair (Tenor/Bari Sax and Bass Clarinet)
    June 16- Oboe Repair
    June 17- Bassoon Repair
    June 23- General Brass Repair (cleanings, polishing, etc.)
    June 24- Piston, Rotor, and Slide Repairs


    Throughout each class, we will cover the basic mechanical and technical functions of each instrument as well as tools needed to complete those repairs and best practices to keep instruments in good playing condition. We have a list of suggested tools and supplies to have for the course and can provide that with each student after enrollment.

    Monday classes will be held from 12-4 pm and Tuesday classes will be held 8 am-12 pm.
